The cornea is the clear window at the front of the eye which transmits and focuses an image via the pupil through the lens to the retina. Diabetic retinopathy is a disease which damages the tiny blood vessels in the retina (the light sensitive tissue at the back of the eye). This will aid your doctor look for the presence of cataract, abnormal or new blood vessels, swelling, blood or chubby deposits in the retina, scar tissue and retinal detachment. Optical coherence tomography takes sectional images of the retina to determine leakage into the retinal tissue. Refractive surgery reshapes the clear dome shaped front part of the eye (cornea) and focuses the light drifting through the cornea to the retina situated in the back of the eye. Maximum of the vision correction surgeries work by reshaping the cornea, though some may require replacing the automatic lens of the eye. Affected quality and quantity of the tears may lead to parched eyes. During this procedure, a little incision is made in your eye and the jellylike vitreous is removed. The light entering the eye does not focus on retina instead focus images earlier light reaches retina causing the distant objects to appear blurred. Inflammation may also occur in the fluid donate in the middle of the eye. Retinal detachment is an eye disorder in which the retina (light receptive layer of tissue at the back of the eye) is pulled away from its normal position.
